  • OH MY GOODNESS! I seriously love food, like really love it. I have always been one to eat constantly and eat whatever is put in front of me (even as a kid)! I just love it. The flavors, the colours, the joy it can bring. Food guys! It's the greatest!

    As you can imagine when I realized that I had to switch to a paleo based diet I was in complete turmoil. I almost convinced myself it was worth the bloat, pain, brain fog, and complete destruction of my gut just to be able to eat all the FOOD! I really struggled to admit defeat and give in to what I knew deep within me needed to happen. I grew tired of excoriating pain and discomfort. I was tired of looking 6 months pregnant even though my last babe was over a 1.5 and I had lost all the baby weight (you can just imagine how pregnant I looked before losing the weight🙈). I just grew tired of food running my life and making my desicions for me. I just wanted to feel "normal" again.
    It has been about a year and a half now, since I finally have and admitted that I needed a change in order to just live.
    What had come of it? Well I feel like a whole new person, I have a whole nee appreciation for food and what it can do for my body, I have so much more respect for my body and what I put it through (after all it supports me and keeps me going even when I don't fuel it properly, why wouldn't I supply it with what it needs to be the best version of me), and I have learned that eating paleo and clean is actually one of the most incredible things I have experienced. Sure it is hard from time to time. But I feel incredible and the food is beautiful and delicious! I mean really delicious! Eating whole foods has opened my eyes to the endless possibilities of food. How it can be cooked, how it can be altered, and how amazing it is for our bodies!
    Food is an incredible gift and so are our bodies. I will not be taking advantage of the incredible benefits of whole clean foods that support and provide for my body!

    If I wasn't so focused on figuring out how not to stumble over my feet ,and still waking my body up, I'd be laughing at me too!!!

    Stretching is something we most often forget when starting a fitness journey. We focus on pushing ourselves in the weight room and making good decisions in the kitchen but we often forget this simple task. I have naturally tight hamstrings so I’ve been focusing on making stretching part of my routine. Here are some benefits to keep in mind next time you think you’re too busy to spend 5 minutes gettin’ bendy. 🤸🏽‍♀️

    🔹 Increases your range of motion (hips are PARTICULARY important here. Ever tried squatting with tight hips? It doesn’t work) . ·
    🔹 Improves your performance in physical activities and reduces risk of injury. .

    🔹 May improve your posture .

  • Do you ever change your angles? I love this angle and I can tell I need to do it more often because I had to drop my ego and the weight. Normal laterals I can do 25lbs, these I had to drop to 10. 😳 Here’s a word to contemplate: steadfast. I was at church on Sunday and this was one of the topics. The dictionary defines steadfast as resolutely or dutifully firm and unwavering. Whether it’s in your faith or diet or workout be steadfast. Don’t go to extremes. Don’t slash 3 tires because one went flat. 💜

    It reminds me that no matter how much we “plan our life” we are constantly reminded that we have ZERO control over our life and circumstances. I’m reading about Job right now and it’s a perfect reminder that the ONE and ONLY thing we can CONTROL is our ATTITUDES and RESPONSES to our circumstances. 👣
