  • Christmas inspired smoothie 🤶🏻❄️⠀

    It’s mid-December and you can’t escape festive season any more. Christmas carols from every corner, decorations that lighten up dark evenings, frosty mornings and a slight stress over the final gifts that needs to be sorted, ⠀
    Even though there is still 24hrs in a day, they kind of feel shorter. I think it’s a mix of the dark mornings and evenings, and also the To Do list is getting longer in preparation for the Big Day, deadlines at work and Christmas parties.⠀

    A smoothie is perfect for does mornings that you need a quick breakfast, a filling snack to keep the energy up or a post work out drink on the go. While we’re in this season let’s embrace it and get a Christmas tasting smoothie! This one has a great mix of protein, carbs & healthy fat with a yummy cinnamon sweetness taste. I’ve made this recipe suitable for sharing because that’s what I believe Christmas is all about, giving. However, no judgment if you don’t Just split the recipe in half⠀

    ✨ Christmas Smoothie for 2 ✨⠀
    2 Banana⠀
    2-3 cups of coconut milk (depending how thick you like it)⠀
    2 tablespoons vanilla/cacao protein powder (I use #tropeaka lean cocoa powder)⠀
    2 teaspoons maca powder⠀
    ½ teaspoon cinnamon⠀
    ¼ nutmeg⠀
    5 dates⠀

    🦄Scroll through the internet machine and you'll hear all about the magical "anabolic window" in which, legend has it, if you don't eat precisely the right amount of protein and carbs at the exact necessary moment post-workout you immediately lose all your gainz and your muscles shrivel into nothing more than a pathetic string of tissue paper.

    ☕️Truth is, that's not how your body works. And so long as you get enough protein and calories by the end of the day...odds are you're going to be totally fine.

    🦄That said, my personal preference is to get some protein (25 - 50g) and carbs (20 - 50g) within 30 - 90 min after I finish working out.

    ☕️Again, does it matter much if you wait longer than 90min? No. As long as your total calorie and protein are in check for the day, you're good. I just prefer to have it within 90 min because I didn't eat during the workout which means that's at least 3hrs without eating and cmon, Hagrid, I'm hungry!

    🦄Don't forget --> if you miss your post workout swolfie and don't post it to IG (or at least stories) your workout didn't happen and your gainz will quickly pass. RIP.
