  • I WENT TO THE GYM TODAY!! ✨💪🏼
    can i get an applaus? Yes, thank you. 👏🏼🤗 i dragged myself to the gym even tho i am a whining lil bitch when i am on my period but today was actually a good day. 🌈
    Haven’t felt really motivated these past 2 weeks because of the weather and my SAD (seasonal affective disorder). But i don’t want to drown in my own sadness and tiredness.🙅🏼‍♀️ If you are feeling the same i have some tips for you!
    ✨listen to old music you used to love. It cheers me up and i can’t help but sing along.
    ✨wear your cutest active wear set. You’ll feel a lot more confident.
    ✨watch workout Youtube videos. It helps me a lot with finding motivation because seeing other girl grind makes me want to do the same.
    ✨eat some comfort food.
    ✨go for a walk outside with music blasting through your ears. You know, the gym works too because it calms your thoughts and increases your heart rate. That’s why i know i should go to the gym, it’s therapy. 😌
    ✨simply talk to someone about your feelings. Letting it all out can be something you needed for a very long time, don’t be afraid to open up and tell someone how you are feeling. That’s where friend are for. 👭

  • Today’s #tuesdaytip is all about footwear! It never fails, every single time I go to the gym I see people utilizing improper footwear for the training they are doing. Perfect example of this is squatting in running shoes.. please for the love of humanity stop doing that!! 🤣 All jokes aside though I used to be guilty of this.. I figured a shoe was a shoe but I was mistaken, all shoes are not created equal!! I purchased a pair of lifting shoes years ago and my squat PR went up tremendously! I also felt more secure and safe while under the bar. I personally use the shoes pictured ☝🏻. The lifters on the right I use for squatting and the shoes on the left I use for everything else (except cardio). So I urge you to use the proper footwear and I guarantee your PRs will skyrocket!! I’ll leave you with this.. “You don’t run in lifters so why in the hell would you lift in runners!?” #tuesday

  • This hidden gem of an athlete @the .mirandaminiswoll lives by this motto "My aim is to inspire and motivate as many people as possible!" I was going to stay home and eat pizza all day until I saw these amazing photographs of her highly developed, athletic physique.
    Now it's gym time. Seriously, her content is as professional as can get, she's a beast following in Dana's footsteps and definitely should be on your radar!

    There is a phrase I like to use with clients called your True North which has to do with that sweet spot of 80/20 eating. (80% nutrient rich foods and 20% whatever you want)

    There is clearly a difference in this 1 year that I would call a "maintenance" year. The left photo I was really trying to get lean and was around 175 at 11% BF.
    Again I'm not entering any contests or in competition.

    But what's different is that I usually have yo-yo'd in weight every year throughout my 30s and 40s.

    The right side photo is after a challenging, job changing, facing new situations, seeking healthy emotional changes type of year. Usually saying all this would make me gain 20 lbs. Im up about 10lbs at 183 with 14% BF. But what transformed the most this year was sticking to my True North.

    I ate HARD during Superbowl, vacations and during special nights out. And then went back to nutrient rich, beneficial to "staying fit" foods.

    I sometimes went weeks without working out, but kept my food within a good window.

    I released myself from the all or nothing mentality and it proved to be the best year of my fitness life.
    Felt great, injuries we're minimal, emotionally and spiritually grew and was able to take that experience to coach and encourage others.

    I hope y'all are having a great Tuesday.

    My advice to you if you're on a weight loss journey or seeking to live a fit life is this: it's NEVER going to be a sprint. It's always going to be a marathon. Give yourself time. Give yourself grace. Love yourself and challenge yourself.
    You will never regret it.
