    So why would you follow someone else's programme? 🤔⠀

    In an industry full of lazy personal trainers and magazine workouts, so many of the people we see are following a programme that was actually deigned for someone else with a different goal and a different body. 🤦⠀
    .⠀
    That's not to say that we can't use similar movements and training methods but unless you've got an identical twin there should be some slight variation in your training. 👬⠀

    How to make a programme for YOU!⠀
    .⠀
    1. 👉 Perform a SWOT analysis and diagnose your strengths and weaknesses. Build your programme around your weak spots whilst maintaining your strengths.⠀
    .⠀
    2. 👉 Perform a movement assessment. Either with a qualified coach or use an app. This can help to diagnose weak or under-active muscles you need to strengthen in your programme.⠀
    .⠀
    3. 👉 Plan your programme around your life. If you know that you're going to be travelling in the next few weeks then plan for it! You could make your week away a recovery week and enjoy a lighter workout!⠀
    .⠀
    What ever you do just remember that your body is unique, your goals are unique, you are unique! So don't follow someone else's programme! 🏋️ 🚴 🏊 🤸⠀

  • I used to think Aspartame would kill us all! I took for granted what the "experts" at the time told me. So I would tell my clients to avoid artificial sweeteners at all costs 🙄

    Thankfully, I'm more knowledgeable now (i.e. there's far more superior information easily available nowadays) and this one comes courtesy of Lyle McDonald 👨‍🔬
    .
    Now, sweeteners aren't exactly going to improve your health (well, they will if they mean you are likely to consume less calories 😎) but they're not going to kill you either ☠️
    .
    Personally, I am a fan as I think they give a great low or zero calorie alternative to make things taste amazing 🍬 which can help people adhere to their targets a lot better 🎯
    .
    The most common example is diet coke, or zero cal Monster. If you like them, and find they help with cravings, then by all means enjoy them and don't worry about the scare mongering 🧟‍♂️
    .
    For now, there's no need to worry as all the evidence suggests sweeteners are absolutely fine once they are not abused. So don't worry, they won't kill us all 😁
